DUTIES

Responsible for the overall management, operation and staff of the Claims and Benefit Administration Department, including all aspects of the Indian Health Services (IHS) contract. The position is also responsible for ensuring all related regulation requirements for the Claims and Benefit Administration Department are met. Responsible for maintaining a communication link with the Indian Health Services clinic personnel and providers, while providing efficient service, as well as expedited and accurate claims processing. This position also assists the Chief Operating and Privacy Officer with legal review and research, annual objectives and projects, as well as reviewing HIPAA and Privacy policies and procedures.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION

  • Managerial experience or a college degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology or other related areas preferred. Will consider seven (7) or more years of customer service/claims management experience instead of a degree.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required in order to answer internal and external inquiries, questions or problems raised by department personnel, management, or external customers, as well as provide claims processing and benefit solutions to the needs of the customers. Attention to detail is imperative.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of HIPAA rules and policies in order to provide consistent and effective support.
  • Excellent People Skills are required to coordinate department activities as well as activities regarding vendors and customers and to convey professionalism via written and verbal communications. Must have ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships within the organization.
  • Problem Solving Skills are needed to answer internal and external inquiries, questions or problems raised by department personnel or external customers, as well as to provide claims processing or customer service solutions to the needs of the customers.
  • Working knowledge of PCs as well as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION

  • Knowledge of current claims processing system and processes.
  • Dental terminology and experience.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Claims Processing experience.
