JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the management of claims processing, benefit administration, and staff of the Claims and Benefit Administration Department, in conjunction with the Director, Operations. This role ensures that claims are processed and groups are set up using accurate parameters to determine benefits in accordance with contractual agreements, processing policies, established guidelines for claims and predeterminations, and state and federal legislation.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient claims turnaround times, upholding quality control standards, and audit processes, as well as maintaining the claims processing system applications and completing/communicating yearly CDT updates.

The position also serves as a key liaison for the IHS (Indian Health Services) federal contract, ensuring clear communication while providing efficient, accurate claims processing and a high level of service excellence and adhering to all contractual guidelines.

 

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  1. Associate's degree in Management, Business, Marketing, Leadership, Communications, or related field or equivalent in experience. Will consider three (3) or more years of supervisory or management experience in lieu of degree.
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required to answer internal and external inquiries, questions or problems raised by department personnel, management, internal and external customers, as well as providing claims processing and benefit solutions to the needs of the customers.
  3. Ability to type 30 WPM
  4. Self-starter with high organizational skills
  5. Detail orientated
  6. Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
  7. Ability to work with minimum supervision
  8. Demonstrated leadership experience/skills
  9. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  10. Experience with the operation and application of a personal computer, as well as Word and Excel

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  1. Dental office and terminology experience
  2. Team leader or management experience
  3. Claims processing experience
  4. Knowledge of claims processing system
